The Austin Adopt-A-Minefield campaign is a project of the Austin chapter of the United Nations Association of the United States. The international Adopt-A-Minefield campaign helps save lives by raising funds to clear minefields and by raising awareness about the global landmine crisis.
The campaign gives safe communities, like ours, the opportunity to help endangered sister communities rid themselves of landmines. The Austin campaign has adopted a minefield in the village of Praca, Bosnia Herzegovina, and is working to raise $50,000 for landmine clearing.
Your tax-deductible donation is welcome and may be sent to the New York office with a reference to the Austin Adopt-A-Minefield's area in Praca. We thank you for your generosity and support.

Nations (click here for event
information)
The Central Texas Model United Nations (CTMUN) is a student-led simulation of meetings of the major UN bodies. Proceedings of the General Assembly, Security Council, Social and Economic Council, and International Court of Justice are led by trained university students taking the part of the "Secretariat." High school students role-play the parts of "diplomats" from various nations of the world. Middle school students serve as pages, facilitating communication between the "diplomats". Through resolution writing, debating, negotiating, and caucusing, students seek to find solutions to real world problems on the global agenda.
All interested, self-motivated students are encouraged to participate in this "learning by doing" experience. A faculty sponsor's role is to encourage and guide the students. Ideally, a Model UN club is formed, in which students work together, sharing their research and ideas with each other.
